I got the pleasure to work with Tiffany McClain of Mimi’s Cafe to do the illustration work for their new kids menu and activity sheets to be used across their 84 restaurant locations.
I am excited to finally be able to share this work! Below is the press release with the PR image followed by a thumbnail grouping of the images I did for the menu and activity sheet that has been made public thus far.

Mimi’s Promotes Healthier Choices With Engaging New Kids Menu
Flipbook-style menu lets kids select dishes while creating stories with furry French friends
DALLAS, Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Mimi’s has launched a creative new kids menu that features healthy choices and an entertaining experience to make ordering fun for even the youngest diners.
The flipbook-style menu is a charming storybook starring Elle and Pierre, a cat-and-dog best-friend duo traveling through France together. The pair help kids select a main dish, side and drink, with each turn of the menu’s three-part pages creating a new scene in the French countryside or city, as Elle and Pierre enjoy picnics, riding trains, dancing – even parachuting.
“We wanted to create a new way for kids to engage with the dining experience and empower them to make their own choices,” said Mimi’s Senior Director of Marketing Tiffany McClain. “Our new kids menu is a fun and interactive way to help children review the menu. They can find the items they like and give their order to the server independently and even nonverbally.”
The menu features new items such as French Toast Dippers, freshly baked Kids Waffle, Kids Cheeseburger or Cheese Quesadillas, as well as longtime favorites Puppy Dog Griddle Cakes, Sliced Grilled Chicken Breast, crispy Chicken Tenders, and Kids Fettuccini with Pomodoro Sauce.
Along with their main dish, kids can also select new beverages with their meal, like Honest Kids Appley Ever After or Super Fruit Punch. Last, they can add healthier items to their meals, such as GoGo squeeZ Applesauce and Yoplait Go-Gurt Strawberry Yogurt, for $0.99 each.

QuietYell Products: Butterfly Away
A tribute to the breathtaking sense of magical wonder felt when I first visited Taroko National Park (太魯閣國家公園) in Hualien, Taiwan (台灣花蓮) in 2008, and to the massive varieties & quantities of butterflies found across Taiwan, “The Butterfly Kingdom” (蝴蝶王國).
The landscape is based off of the suspension footbridge of Taroko Gorge (The Jhuilu Bridge at Swallow Grotto (錐麓吊橋 @ 燕子口), 24° 10′ 8.75″ N, 121° 31′ 53.58″ E), and the butterflies are based off of a Taiwanese subspecies of “The Great Orange Tip” (端紅蝶) butterflies (specifically: Hebomoia Glaucippe Formosana).
